Inviting Requests for Adjustments

1 – Before You Get Started: General Considerations

At any point where an applicant (or anyone you interact with) might need a reasonable adjustment or accommodation, it is inclusive to invite such requests at the start of your communications.

For instance, you can invite accomodation requests in the:

Sign-up form for a pre-application workshop
Email communicating an interview invitation
Calendar invite for the induction activities on their first day

This removes the burden from the applicant, of deciding whether or not to ask for the adjustment since you have made it clear that you are happy to make accommodations to ensure all are included and treated equitably.
