Ideally all applicants (whether successful or not) should be provided with feedback, though you may have to make decisions regarding the level of detail for long-listed versus short-listed candidates due to workload considerations. Feedback should be honest but polite. You might consider providing the feedback through the named contact if your applicants have been in touch with them.
It is important to provide feedback to both successful and unsuccessful applicants, since it is unlikely that this application process will be the final one completed by any of your applicants. Fair and honest feedback will help all applicants to succeed in future applications and acknowledges the time they invested in the application process.
